Picture taken in Mei 2020 - seen Matag growing healthy
1) 4/6/2020 ( Thursday) - I decided to write again on my Blog to share knowledge, experience and as to remember the moments i went through for all these whiles / years back.
2) This entry - i wish to share my efforts to plant coconut trees and pineapple. How i start planting and how it becomes my ambition and eagerness to do so! Let's we start with coconuts planting.
MRD and MYD from Bagan Datuk
MYD - planted at Kg Tanjung
3) I started to plant coconuts after I've been posted working in Teluk Intan on 18 February 2018 at Pejabat Kebajikan Masyarakat Daerah Hilir Perak. I took about a year, then i realized that coconuts plantation in Bagan Datuk is worthy and as a source of unstoppable income generatig because people consume coconuts milk everyday and meanwhile coconuts can be sold "muda" and "tua". I made up my mind to plant coconut trees at Kedah because there are some empty lands unused. On November 2018 - I bought coconut trees at Pejabat Pertanian Bagan Datuk to be planted at Kedah. I chose Malayan Red Dwarf (MRD) and Malayan Yellow Dwarf (MYD) at the first then I broaden the variety to MYD / MRD + Tagnanan = (Matag) from Bagan Datuk farmers. The proses to take all the trees from Bagan Datuk / Teluk Intan to Kedah prolong until April 2019 to complete the plantation to fit 20f x 20f with 4 acres land. Now, I've successfully planted 2++ trees ( not counting yet due to dead trees).
4) I went back to Kedah from Teluk Intan several times a months just to complete planting at two different places ( Kg Tanjung and Pedu). I still remember how I spend my 3 days non-stop to plant the trees underneath the heat of the Sun in Pedu. The land is so bushy at first and slowly it change to an estate fulled with coconut tress. I am so satisfied!! I have to cut bamboos to make a stand covered with net to protect pigs by destroying the trees. Now today on 4 Jun 2020, I realized that how fast time flies! The exhausted, tiredness, perspiration gone and replaced with satisfaction even no at the end. The journey is still far. I now think ti plant pineapple at the same lands and surely, i will share and maybe through video next time - InsyaAllah!

5) Why do i choose MRD, MYD and Matag? Here are several reasons:
a) MYD / MRD are two types of dwarf coconut trees and can be harvested after 3 years. It's a short period;
b) The quality also is good which is produce lots milk even though the size is quite smaller;
c) It can produce 250 pieces of coconuts per year; and
d) Matag - surely, the production of the coconut is so much up to 280 pieces per year.

6) Ok, Here's the record of the coconut's plantation in two places ( one at Kampung Tanjung and another one at Pedu). Besides MRD, MYD and Matag , I also planted another variety such as Tagnanan, Pandan and SGG.

Me at the farm observing the progress of the trees
7) For all these whiles, I also planted another coconuts in additional to replace with the dead one. Until now, I couldn't count exact figures how many coconuts remain growing and from my observation it's still 2++.
8) I expected to see the progress and God wills, all the trees produce fruits by 2022. Until today, I consider most of the trees are 1 years old ( plus minus with the dead one and replace with the new)

9) Next time, I will share how take care of all the trees - what fertilizes I used. See the next series. Below are some photos as to see my work one day ahead!! Thanks
